£2OOO IN DAMAGES
MOTOR FATALITY SEQUEL CLAIM BY VICTIM'S WIDOW [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Tuesday Fatal injuries received by Henry Stont, shop assistant, aged 41, who was knocked down by a motor-car when crossing Jervois Quay on December 31 resulted in a claim for £2500 damages being brought in tho Supreme Court by his widow, Janet Scott Stent. Liability was admitted by the insurance company concerned, but not by tho defendant, Frederick Collins Leach, motor salesman. As the company was the virtual defendant, the jury was asked to assess the damages, which it did, awarding plaintiff £2OOO, of which £2OO is to be sot aside for four years
