THEFT OF BICYCLES
SIX MONTHS IN PRISON OFFENCES AT PALMERSTON [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] PALMERSTON NORTH. Tuesday The theft of six bicycles was admitted by Albert Leonard Hansen, enginedriver, aged 37, in the Palmerston North Police Court to-day before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M. Detective-Sergeant J. Bickerdikc said the bicycles were all stolen in Palmerston North and sold to second-hand dealers in Palmerston North, Dannevirke and Feilding, under a fictitious name. Accused was sentenced on July 18 to six months' imprisonment for the theft of three bicycles and was at present serving that sentence. The magistrate said accused could expect no leniency. He sentenced him to one month's imprisonment on each of the six charges, the sentences to be cumulative and served at the expiration of the sentence accused is now serving.
