SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FAST MATCHES WITNESSED MOUNT ALBERT DEFEATED Fast ancl open football was a feature of the fifth series of matches in the i-emnd round of the Auckland litiohy Leagues senior championship, ■which was played at Car law Park on Saturday under good conditions. An even curtain-raiser between Devonport and City resulted in a draw. The chief match on the No. 2 ground was fought between Ponton by and Marist, the former taking the honours by a single point'. In the curtain-raiser Richmond beat Newton by a good margin.

Richmond is now leading in tho championship by one point from Manuknu and Mount Albert, which aro equal in second position. Devonport follows with, 14 points. The flags were flown at half-mast owing to the death of Mrs. E. J. Phelan. Results of senior matches were as follows: —
