ROYAL SHOW FIXTURE
PROPOSAL FOR HAMILTON DECISION NOT YET MADE [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday Preliminary plans for the holding of the Royal Agricultural Show in. Hamilton in 1938 were discussed at a conference of delegates representing the agricultural and pastoral associations of the Waikato, held in Hamilton yesterday. Mr. 11. A. Hinton presided. It was stated that of the last four royal shows held in New Zealand two had shown a profit and"two had shown a loss. An estimate of the receipts and expenditure of a royal show held in Hamilton showed a probable loss of £334. In addition, the Waikato Association would have to spend £I2OO on temporary and .permanent Delegates expressed the opinion that, they should be informed as soon as possible whether the show would be allocated to Hamilton, and whether the allocation would be accepted. It was stated that a special committee of the Waikato Association had been appointed to investigate ways and means and until the report of that committee had been received little further could be done. ■ . It was decided to open a special .Royal Show account ana to ask those associations in the Waikato net represented at the meeting to assist the central executive in collecting donations.
