WINTER SHOW
LARGE CROWDS ATTEND BRISK DAY EXPERIENCED MODELS ON EXHIBITION A very large crowd visited the Auckland Winter Exhibition on Saturday. The attendance figures were the highest since the show opened and attentive interest was given to all the exhibits, stalls and special displays, "while ' tho side-shows did a brisk trade. The programme of entertainment was continued with the screening of pictures, items by Miss Aileen Beresford's pupils, banjo solos, selections by the Auckland Girls' Band, a conjuring act, a skating exhibition and a vaudeville act. So many attended on Saturday afternoon that in some of the lanes between exhibits and side-shows it was almost impossible to move forward except with the crowd. The numbers did not begin to diminish until well into the evening, and from every stall and side-show at which inquiries were made tho response came that business was the best since the show opened. To-day the poultry show, which concluded on Saturday, will be replaced by the model yachts, engineering and aeroplane competitions. Entries for all these have been very large and the standard of skill shown is said to bo remarkable. The rabbit show will also begin. Here again, entries are as good as they have been before. To-day the picture entertainment will be continued at intervals, and in the evening tho programme will be started with a model aeroplane flying competition and will be maintained with vaudeville acts, items by Miss Kathleen Boyle's pupils, and selections by the Balmoral Boys' Silver Band, which will march to the exhibition from the Town Hall.
