HARRIER RACING

LYNNDALE CLUB'S RUN The Lynndale narrier Club held a C,V 4 miles cross-country run on Saturday over the club's championship course. Members of the University Club were present, and the runners were divided into small packs of six or seven, which were sent away in order of merit with instructions to team. A very hard run resulted. L. Barker was outstanding, while Ilaszard and Resoinger also ran well. The nios* prominent Lynndale runners were Rriggs, Cromplon, Collins and Perrett, the last three teaming particularly well. Among the middlO markers, McKenzie and Ball, of University, and Anderson and Bennett. of Lynndale. ran soundly. Long markers were were fit were two of Lynndale's newest recruits, G. Bell and O. Murdoch, while D'Ath-Weston and L. Johnston in their first run for University showed real promise. WESLEY CLUB The Wesley Harrier Club held a run from the Parnell Methodist Church on Saturday over a 10,000 metres course round the back of Orakei and Mission Bay. The ideal running conditions induced 28 members to turn out, and all enjoyed an excellent run. The three packs kept together remarkably well. At tho conclusion of tho run afternoon tea was served. PRESBYTERIAN CLUB Forty members of tho Presbyterian Bible Class Harrier Club ran from the residence of Mrs. G. Patterson. s(i Gillies Aveniio, Epsom, on Saturday. The trail, which was laid by F. Budgo and V. Field, led along Gillies Avenue and St. Andrew's Road, to the Three Kings. From "there it led around tho Mount Roskill district and over the mountain, coming hack over Three Kings and Mount Eden Read, along St. Leonard's Road to Gillies Avenue. In the intermediate pack Taft, Maclndoe and Odlin all ran well, while in the slow pack E. Linfoot was always to the fore, After the run afternoon lea was provided. On behalf of the club the captain, Mr. J. I. 15. Neil, thanked the hostess and those who had assisted her, Mrs. Patterson replying.
