FAREWELL TO MEMBER
MR. JORDAN, HONOURED ONEHUNGA ARRANGEMENTS Residents of the Panama Estate, Mount Wellington, assembled in Mr. J. Coppins' hall on Saturday night to farewell Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., and Mrs. Jordan. Mr. R. W. McCullock presided over an attendance of about ino people. Among those present was Mr. E. D. McLennan, formerly M.P. for Franklin, who spoke highly of Mr. Jordan's services as member for the district. A presentation of gold cufflinks and studs was made to Mr. Jordan by Mr. Coppins, on behalf of the residents. Presentations were also made to Mrs. Jordan and Miss Jordan. Musical items and dancing were enjoyed during the evening. The arrangements for tendering a civic farewell to Mr. Jordan were advanced at a meeting at Onehunga. An offer of the use of the Strand Theatre, Onehunga, for the farewell function, if held next Thursday, was accepted, this date being agreed to. The Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, wrote regretting his inability to be present, but stated the Government would be represented by a Cabinet Minister.
