TRADE WITH CANADA
NEW SHIPPING LINE Tho steamer City of Batavm, which arrived from Montreal last night, is the first vessel to visit Auckland tinder tho auspices of the Montreal-Anstralia-Now Zealand Line, which purchased the interest of the Canadian National Steamships in tho service and also ten Canadian National steamers. The new company is a syndicate representing tho Fllerman-Bucknall Line, the Federal Line and the Port Lino. Faeh of the three companies will place steamers in the service in turn. The last vessels to run under the auspices' of the Canadian National Steamships will be the Canadian Britisher, which is due at Auckland from Australia about Wednesday to complete loading for New York, Boston and Montreal, and the Canadian Cruiser, which is discharging and loading in the South.
