MINISTER'S STATEMENT DECREASE IN FIGURES [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] WELLINGTON, Sunday Details of the unemployment figures for the four-weekly period ended June 6 were made available yesterday by the Minister ot Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong. The Minister stated that there were 53,034 men paid, either partly or fully, from the Employment Promotion Fund, a decrease of 3232 on the figure for the corresponding period of last year, while the number of parttime relief recipients, 39,038, was the lowest figure for June recorded under that heading since 1930. Details of the latest figures, compared with those of the previous month, are as follows: May» JuneO Registered hut not eligible or placed on relief .. 2012 8200 Receiving rationed relief work under No. 5 scheme 15,528 15,480 Receiving snstenanco without work . . .. 17,100 20,352 Totals .. . . 35,270 39,038 "In addition to the registrations listed above," Mr. Armstrong said, " there are 13,990 men on full-time work who are either partly or fully paid from the Employment Promotion Fund, which makes a total of 53,034, as compared with 56,266 at June last year."
