MELROSE'S DEATH
AUSTRALIAN INVESTIGATION FAULT IN AEROPLANE CANBERRA, Jnly 10 The Air Accidents Investigation Committee, which presented its report to the Minister of Defence, found that the aeroplane accident in which Mr. C. J. Melrose and Lieutenant-Colonel Campbell were killed last Sunday was caused by a structural failure which apparently began in the port mainplane. The committee also found that the aircraft and engine were airworthy at the commencement of the flight. There was no reason to believe that the pilot was other than medically fit.
