SENTENCES IN SYDNEY
CHARGES OF ARMED ROBBERY JUDGE'S SEVERE REMARKS SYDNEY, July 10 Two men who were convicted of committing an armed robbery received severe sentences yesterday at the Quarter Sessions in Sydney. Leslie Knight, aged 26, received 10 years' imprisonment, and Henry Brignull, aged 20, seven years' imprisonment. The pair were associated in carrying out armed hold-ups on taxi-drivers, which has been a common offence in recent months, and m armed robberies of small shopkeepers. Air. Justice Curlewis described Knight as the most worthless specimen he had ever had to deal with. The charges against him entitled him to 63 years' imprisonment, and those against Brignull to 56 years.
