NEW SOUTH WALES EVENT
FIFTY PEOPLE TAKE PART SYDNEY, July 6 Hundreds of cars and three special trains from Sydney and Newcastle conveyed crowds of people to Gosford yesterday to witness a scooter race of seven and a-half miles from Terrigal to Gosford, both seaside resorts. The competitors numbered 50 and their ages ranged from 10 to 81. They included middle-aged women and girls, and also a champion skater. The event, which created considerable diversion, and in which all types of scooters, both streamlined and primitive, took part, was conducted over a paved but hilly motor road.
