HAMILTON GIRL GUIDES

A YEAR OF PROGRESS The district commissioner, Mrs. J. M. Horton, presided at the annual /neeting of the executive committee of the Hamilton Girl Guides held in the Waikato Lyceum Club 011 Friday afternoon. The year's work was reviewed and an increase in membership shown. The work of tho companies was an indication of the progress of guide work in Hamilton. Mrs. Horton presented her report and spoke of the work of the guides and the ceremonies and services that had been attended during the year. A company had been formed at Hillcrest and the rangers had been re-formed at Cambridge. Sho extended thanks to the committee,' officers, guiders and guides for their splendid co-operation and wished the movement every success in the future. In speaking of Mrs. Morton's excellent work iu the movement during tho past years, Mrs. A. R. Clark expressed regret at her resignation as district commissioner. A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mrs. N. Ratcliffe for her work as secretary to tho executive committee. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. G. do Vere Chittv; vice-presidents, Mrs. H. Douglas. Mrs. T. C. Eraser, Mrs. Allen Bell, Mrs. J. R. Fow, Mrs. A. R. Clark and Mrs. J. D. Smith; honorary secretary, Mrs. J. M. Horton; committee, Mrs. Lance Tompkins, Mrs. E. Grocott, Mrs. T. J. Shaw, Mrs. T. P. Weatherhon, Mrs. T. N. Pemherton and Miss J. M. Willia rnson.
