ST. MORITZ SKATERS
There is no more graceful sport in the world than skating, and the exhibitions to be given by the St. Moritz skaters at the Auckland Winter Exhibition to-morrow and throughout tho subsequent ten days should meet with immediate success in Auckland. The combination of perfect poise, balance and control of the body which is essential before tho rhythmic movement of the expert skater can ho achieved requires years of practice. Professor Corth'esy, who is to ap)>ear at the show with his partner, Miss Vera Paravicini, has been skating since he was a small child, and it took him six years to learn tho present act. Before Miss Paravicini succeeded in achieving tho perfection and skill the act requires Professor Corth'esy coached 39 girls. His own acquaintance with the sport has brought him into contact with many famous people. For a time ho managed some of the most famous rinks on tho Continent, but he also has been an instructor. Among his pupils he numbers King Boris of Bulgaria, the Inte King Alexander of Serbia, Mary Pickford and the famous screen comedian Charles Chaplin.
