NOTES FROM HENDERSON
A social and dance was held by the social committee of the Independent Order of Foresters, Henderson, in the Foresters' Hall, to welcome to tho district Mrs. W. Williams. Several amusing games were played, dancing was held and songs wore rendered by Mr. Brookes, Mrs. G. Noble acting as the accompanist. Mrs. Williams was welcomed I) 3' Mr. C. Dickens, who wished her every happiness and success in Henderson. Mr. Williams responded on behalf of his wife.
There was a good attendance at a concert held in the Henderson Town Hall in aid of St. Michael's Anglican Church, when a substantial amount was received to augment the church funds. The children had been well trained, the performance reflecting great credit on their teacher. Tho annual ball of the Star of Henderson Independent Order of Foresters, held in the Henderson Town Hall, was a particularly successful function. The floor was packed with dancers and many officers of surrounding lodges were present, including the Grand Master of New Zealand, Mr. A. J. Guy. Winners of novelty dance competitions were Miss R. Scott and Mr. Glover, Miss A. Ye las and Mr. P. Aritis.
