ANNIVERSARY LUNCHEON THE CONSUL ENTERTAINS Masses of golden-coloured Iceland poppies and small bowls of violets and daphne, had been used to decorate the Milne and Choyce Reception HaH on Saturday when a luncheon party whs given by Mr. W. F. Boyle, consul for the United States in Auckland, and Mrs. lJoyle, to celebrate the lO.'th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America. Two charming American songs were sung by Miss Janet Woods and her sister, Miss Cliarlene Woods, played the "Star Spangled Banner," the American National Anthem. Mrs. Boyle, who, as hostess, made a brief speech, was wearing a black and white knitted costume with a white corsago and a small black hat. Her daughter, Miss Fay Boyle, was in a henna suit, a brown coat trimmed with a brown fur collar, and a brown ielt hat.
