OBITUARY

MR. JAMES GRIBBLE The deatli occurred yesterday of Mr. James Gribble, of Wallace Street, Herne Bay. Mr. Gribble, who was 64 years of age, was the second son of the late Mr. Ja;nes Gribble, of Thames and Auckland. He spent his early years in Auckland and in 1893 entered into business in Waiuku, where he resided until about 15 years ago, when lie retired and came to Auckland to live. He took a keen interest in public affairs in Waiuku and was for many years n member of tho Waiuku Town Board. Ho was a member of the Waiuku Bowling Club and later of tho West End Bowling Club. He was also a keen sportsman with tho rod and gun. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter.

MR. C. J. WESTWOOD The death occurred last week at his home in Wellington Street, Epsom, of Mr. Charles John Westwood at the age of 76. Mr. Westwood was the son of the late Mr. James Westwood, of Rcmuera. A godson of Bishop Selwyn, he was baptised in St. Mark's Church. Remuera, of which he was a member to the time of bis death. Mr, Westwood was a partner in the firm of Dunn, Smith and Company, one of the pioneering engineering firms in Auckland, which was later taken over by A. and T. Burt, Limited. Since his retirement in 1905 he had resided at Epsom. He was a member of the Auckland Orphans' Club and the Ulster Association. He is survived by bis wife, two sons and two daughters.

MR. WILLIAM GILES COLLETT [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday The death occurred in Hamilton yesterday of Mr. William Giles Collett, formerly of Rotorua, aged 8$ years. Mr. Collett was born in Cirencester, England, and came to New Zealand as a child. After living in Christehurch ho removed to Marlborough, where he was engaged in sawmilling. Ho farmed in the Wairarapa and in the King Country, and also lived at Rotorua, before coming to Hamilton. Mr. Collett was a wellknown herbalist. He was also a member of the British-Israel Society. He is survived by two sons and five daughters..
