USE OF SOUND FILMS EXTENSION BY GOVERNMENT [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Saturday In pursuance of the policy of extending and strengthening overseas publicity and advertising, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, on behalf of the Hon. F. Langstone, Minister in charge of the Tourist and Publicity Department, announces that the Government has concluded an arrangement to lease tho premises of Filmcraft, Limityd, for the purpose of increasing considerably the production of sound films of Xew Zealand life nnd interest, and also to further the output of modern advertising media of all descriptions for oversea display purposes. The staff of Filmcraft will be retained, and Mr. R. W. Fenton has been placed in charge of this branch of the department. Mr. L. J. Schmitt, general manager of the department, expects to have tho new branch fully engaged with its many duties within the next few days.
