SERVICES RECOGNISED
MR. W. JJ ORD A N HONOURED PRESENTATIONS AT PANMURE The presentation of an illuminated address to Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., who will leave shortly to represent New Zealand on the League of Nations and to bo High Commissioner in London, was made by past and present members of the Pnnmure School Committee and householders of the district at a gathering in the old Panmitro school on Saturdav afternoon.
In making the presentation the chairman of the committee, Mr. R. E. Mellsop, thanked Mr. Jordan for his untiring efforts in the interests of the Panmure school. It was largely duo to Mr. Jordan's work, he said, that the new building, which was to be opened shortly, had been erected. Mr. Jordan briefly acknowledged the gift and thanked the gathering for its continued support and goodwill. Members of the Pnnmure Yacht and Boating Club presented Mr. Jordan later in tho afternoon with a handsomely bound volume of Methodist hymns. Tho presentation was made bj tho secretary, Mr. S. Hamlin, who expressed the appreciation of tho members of the club for all that Mr. Jordan had done to assist them.
