LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Ponsonby.—Tho monthly meeting of tho Ponsonby branch of the League of Mothers was held on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. S 0. English presiding. Mrs. English welcomed members of All Saints' Mothers' Union, also Mrs. F. H. Barnett, president of the Toknnui branch of the league. Sympathetic mention was made of tho death, in Wellington, of Mrs. Dawson, Dominion secretary, all standing in silence as a mark of respect. The report of the provincial quarterly meeting was read by Mrs. Gadsby, and Mrs. Lang gave the thought for the month. Mrs. Tattersfield spoke very interestingly on "Gardening." During tho afternoon pianoforte and vocal solos were rendered by Mrs. R Reed and Miss Nancy Hanna and. elocutionary items by Mrs. Tait., These wero much appreciated.
