THAMES DISTRICT SCHEME

Advice has been received by Mr. J. Thorn, M.P., from the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semplc, that tho Public Works Department has authorised an expenditure of more than £16,000 in tho Thames district. The Works to he done include the following:—Whangamata Wharf; Matangia Road, metalling half a mile, £.'520; Sweetman's Road, metalling 65 chains, £550; Rangihau Road, construction of concrete ford over the Waiwawa Stream, £250; Mercury RavHakei Road, metalling seven miles, £10,160; Storey Creek JJridge on Tairua Road, £1121; Hollis Road, formation and metalling -IJ miles, £3030.
