FLOODS IN VICTORIA
MELBOURNE, Juno 27 Many families are homeless as a result of floods in the Gippsland district, south-east Victoria, and thousands of head of cattle have been lost, while crops have been ruined and bridges have been washed away. No loss of life is reported, but communication with some flooded areas near Bairnsdale is impossible, and the police fear that some farmers who wero trapped may have been drowned.
