OYSTER SEASON OPENS
DEMAND GENERALLY KEEN Oyster dealers expressed themselves as fairly satisfied with tho tone of the market for the opening of the season yesterday. Supplies came forward in good quantity from Kaipara, Russell, the Great Barrier and the Hauraki Gulf, and quality was for the most part good. The prices, which range from Is to 2s .'id a bottle, show no alteration from those of last year, and are considered satisfactory. The demand in the city and suburbs was keen.
