CHILDREN'S DANCE
The Mothers' Club of the Sunbeams Free Kindergarten held its annual children's fancy dress dance on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance. gifts and paper hats were distributed among the children. The judges of the fancy costumes, Mrs. A. Peach, Miss R. Sutherland and Miss L. Cameron, had a difficult task in making the awards. The prizewinners were: Children under three, Stewart Jamison (cowboy), Mary Amy (old fashioned lady); kindergarten age, most original, boys, Leslie Burton .(music on the air), girls, Dorothy Hay (child of all nations); most economical boys, George Grime (absent minded professor); girls, Jean East (fairy); five years and over, boys, most original, Leslie Pye (goiliwog); girls, Myrna Fricker (penguin); most economical, boys, Trevor Brunton (sundowner), girls, Voeline Hine (Topsy); special prize for most work on frock, Esther Fricker and Shirley Cockroft. The committee responsible for the display comprised Miss L. Rothbury, director of the kindergarten and president of the committee, Miss P. Ahlfeld, asi : stant,director and treasurer, Mrs. S. Burton, secretary, Mrs. J. Hine, Mrs. P. Fitzgibbon, Mrs. T. Johnson, Mrs. D. flay, Mrs. A. McGregor, Mrs. 11. Jamison, Mrs. A. Howard, Mrs. W. , 'Arnold.
