OLD BRITISH TANK
TRANSPORT BY RAIL TRAINS UNABLE TO PASS 4 [from our own C<>RltKSl'ONdknt I SYDNEY, June 5 Careful arrangements were made b\ the railway authorities to convey a military tank from Melbourne to the War Museum at Canberra. The .'iO-ton steam breakdown' crane was sent from Harden to tranship the tank from the Victorian truck to the New South Wales truck. This was done without/ mishap. The tank is a British 101/ model, it accommodated eight men. Owing to the great width of the tank, no train was allowed to pass it during the transport to Queanbeyan, and it was necessary to place the train conveying the tank in refuge sidings whenever another train was due. An engineer from the chief mechanical engineer's office accompanied the train.
