JHE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE OVERSEAS INDUSTRIALS FIRM A marked finning in overseas industrials .following a swing toward these issues was 11 feature on the Auckland fcjtock Exchange yesterday, when business waa particularly active. Dominion ' Breweries were sought a t increased levels, following the announcement of a dividend, and sales were put through at 2os (id, 25s and 25s 9d, a total gam of Is 9d. The advance in I', and 0. deferred stock was continued, a transfer being made 6d higher at 25s 9d, at which price more jrere wanted. Most of the business was done in the miscellaneous section. Broken Hills recovered recent temporary easing and after a current level transfer moved up 3d to 72s in dealing. Australian Class maintained their strength, passing 3d higher at 93s 9d. There was a brisk deinantl for Electrolytic Zincs. s\vo parcels of the preference issue changed hands nt 40s, an advance of 6d ( while a further sale was made at 40s 3d. The ordinary shares were 9d dearer nt 38s. G. J. Coles were easier, hufc Hume I'ipe again firmed. Following publication of the payment of a dividend of 5 per cent, Woolworths [(New Zealand) advanced 12s in dealing «t £9- New Zealand Newspapers dropped 9d to 41s 9d, but Consolidated Bricks again sold higher. ByCrofts and "Wilsons Cements 'were steady. Banks were more active, Commercials «f Australia selling twice 2d lower at ]9s 2d. Now Zealands sold cum dividend unchanged-, while the D mortgage issue, ex dividend, sold 9d lower at 28s 9d. After increases in the South, Rational Insurance moved up Id to ißs Id.
