ISLAND CRUISE
WARSHIPS TO SAIL
ITINERARY OF FLAGSHIP TWO SLOOPS PREPARING On their annual winter cruise tn the South Sen islands, H.M.S. Duncdin, flagship of Commodore the Hon. E. R. Pruinmond, and the sloops H.M.S. Leitli and H.M.S. Wellington will leave Auckland next week. The flagship will sail on Monday afternoon at 2.150 and the sloops are scheduled to leave on Wednesday. H.M.S. Wellington, which is at present in dock for overhaul prior to the cruise, will leave dock on day.The itinerary of the flairship has not been completed definitely, as foreign Governments have still to approve certain proposed calls in their territories. From Auckland, however, the Duncdin will proceed to the Kerniadecs, Nino Island and Vavau, in the Tongan Group, in that order, making a brief stay at each, before arriving at Suva on Juno 2G. Short cruises to islands within easy roach will probably bo made from Suva, which will bo tho flagship's base until July 20, when she will continue to Apia. It is possible that firing practice will be carried out before the Duncdin returns to Auckland on August 28. Tho two sloops will be away from Auckland until October 2. The Wellington's schedule provides for bombardment practice between June 22 and 2D, on tho voyage from Lautoka to Suva. It is expected that Hishop Kempthorne. of Polynesia, will be a guest on each of tho warships in turn, in tho course of a tour of his extensive diocese. He will probably join tho Leitli at Nukualofa on tho first stage of tho journey. The naval minesweeper, H.M.S. Wakakura, returned yesterday from a week's cruise with a party of Royal Naval Volunteer Reservists. She will sail to-day with another class, and will dock next month.
