TEMPORARY RESTRICTION CITY SHOP NOT AFFECTED The recommendation of the Industries and Commerce Committee of the House of Representatives that the operation of large-scale pharmacy companies in New Zealand be not extended for a period of six months does not apply to the shop in Queen Street at present being prepared for Boots the Chemists (N.Z.), Limited. It was stated yesterday that Boots' Wellington shop and the new one in Auckland were bought prior to the agitation against pharmacy chain stores and both the last Government and the present ono had taken the view that they could not interfere with those businesses. The Queen Street shop would accordingly open some time next month. The committee's recommendation was made in order to enable existing chemists collectively to organise and plan their operations with the object of reducing the present scale of prices to the consumer, while at the same time providing an adequate payment for services icwlercri.
