FINISHING OF MATCHES INTER-ISLAND CONTEBT REFEREE SUSTAINS INJURY As the result of an inquiry from the Newton Club, it was decided at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League that in future matches at Carlaw Park would cease with the ringing of the bell. Mr. E. J. Phelan, who presided in the absence of Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said the decision was arrived at by the Referees' Association as the result of a misunderstanding in a recent match. Mr. W. Mincham, delegate from the Referees' Association, said that on all grounds away from Carlaw Park the referee would bo sole judge of time. Tho application of the Now Zealand Rugby League for the use of Carlaw Park for the inter-island match on July 11 was granted. As tho result of injury to a referee on the Outer Domain through the throwing of the discus at a sports meeting, it wan decided to draw the attention of tho City Council to the danger of this practice near football grounds. An application by the Waikato Regimental Band to play at an interval at Carlaw Park on King's Birthday afternoon was declined owing to programme arrangements being complete. The band, however, ib to be invited to attend the football. The following transfers were approved:— TV. Murray, Waiuku to Manukau; A. C. Muller, City to Mount Albert; R. Keesing, Ponsonby to Green Lane. The following senior players were registered:—D. E. Robinson {Marist), J. H. Steele and A. W. Carter (Ponsonby). R. S.
