BOXING IN SYDNEY

JONES DEFEATS BENNETT WIN FOR HARRY COHEN SYDNEY, June 2 At the Sydney Stadium last evening the American negro boxer. Tommy Jones, 10st. 121b., knocked out the American welterweight, Leonard Bennett, lOst. lllb., in the third round. Jones' aggressiveness, which hitherto had asserted itself in local contests, was again responsible'for the abrupt termination of what the stadium management hoped would bo a better-balanced bout. Difficulty has been experienced in obtaining suitable opponents for Jones. The negro sent his opponent to the floor in the second round and ended the bout in the third.

The youthful boxer Harry Cohen, Sst, 91b.. scored his third successive win since rejecting his selection as a member of the Olympic team. He gained a technical, knockout m the second round of a preliminary contest against Frank Cartwright, Sst. 9lb.
