NEW SCENIC ROUTE

JUAKAU TO AWAKINO

COMPLETION LIKELY

The completion of an nil-weather "West Coast scenic motoring route between Raglan, Kawhia, Marakopa and Awakino is likely in the near future, according to a communication received by the Automobile Association (Auckland). Road improvements during the past few; years have provided pleasant travelling conditions from Hamilton to the "West Coast at Raglan and thence via Te Mata and the Bridal Veil Falls to Kawhia. Good roads then circuit the Kawhia Harbour and lead down through pleasant country to Te Anga *nd Marakopa to Moeatoa. South of ihis point there are several un bridged streams find siix miles of clay roads. TormerlyZ/it has been neglected as far maintenance is concerned. Officials of the Automobile Association who have inspected the route from iime to time are enthusiastic regarding the scenery and at odd times when
