SESSION'S TASKS

PLANS FOR WEEK

INTERESTING DEBATES j TWO/ MORE BILLS LIKELY INTIMATION BY MR. SAVAGE [jlY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL REPORTER,] WELLINGTON, Monday The education system of Isiew Zealand will be a subject for discussion to-morrow afternoon when the House of Representatives resumes after its ■week-end recess. The report of the Director of Education, Mr. N. T. Lambourne, /on his recent tour overseas will bo open far debate, and as it is fairly wide in its scope there should bo an interesting discussion. The Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Eraser, announced some time ago that the education system might bo remodelled along some of the lines suggested in the At more report, and this should lend another aspect of interest to tho debate.

The Committee stage of the State Advances Corporation Bill will bo commenced in the evening, and tho first two hours' discussion on tho short title will be broadcast. With no set list of speakers, r.nd. with speeches restricted to 10 minutes, tho Committee diseusfiiou' may easily prove to be tho most interesting of tho Parliamentary broadcasts to'Vlate. The futuro busiviess of the House is inot quite definite. After an all-dnv Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, stated this evening that an Imprest Supply Bill would bo before tho House on Wednesday and ho hoped that the Rent Restriction Bill Avould be introduced early in the week. It was doubtful whether the Broadcasting Amendment Bill would appear this week, and it was possible that some other measures would hare to be held over until after the mid-winter recess. Much depended on the progress in drafting that could be made in tho nest few days.
