FAMOUS GOLFER'S VISIT
SARAZEN DUE IN AUGUST TOO SOON FOR CHAMPIONSHIP [by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday Advice has been received by the secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association that Gone Sarazen, the American professional golfer, will not competo in the New Zealand open championship. He now intends to visit New Zealand before he takes part in the Australian championship, and therefore will not be able to play in the open championship here. Accompanied by Miss Helen Hicks, women's ex-champion of the United States, he will arrive at Auckland on August 3, and play a number of exhibition matches with Miss Hicks before leaving for Australia on August 18.
