MISSIONS TO SEAMEN

CONCERT FOR VISITORS A concert programme arranged by Madame Dunn and Mr. P. Hamblin for the French visiting sailors from the Savorgnan de Brazza was given at the Flying Angels Mission last night. Contributing items were: Mrs. V. Watson, Mrs. F. Lambert, Mrs. Pat Quinn, Mr. Frank McKnight and Kathleen Boyce, Leone Rovett, Anita Copeland, Joyce Chapman, Valerie and Colin Han, Ngaire Hagues, Mina Foley, Mavis Bradshaw, Jean Martin, Rona Hogwood, Aldwyth Dunn, Lorraine Guinevere, Katherine Martin, and Joyce Harne.

During the evening the Commander of the Savorgnan de Brazza arrived, accompanied by the Consul for France, M. Edouard Joubert, the DeputyMayor, Mr. B. Martin, and General Sir George Richardson. At the close of the entertainment he thanked the chaplain, the Rev. H. K. Vickery and those assisting him for all that had been done for the Frenchmen during their visit to Auckland. They would go away taking with them most happy memories of the kindness that bad been extended to them bv the citizens of Auckland, and in particular of those who welcomed the seafarers.
