Steel plates are now being made at various places in th« West of Scotland -and Shefliold out of the scrap from the German warships salvaged at Scapa Flow, which were scuttled by Jheir creWs in June, lyl9. A representative of Metal Industries, Limited, of Glasgow and liosyth, who took over tho work of salving the sunken fleet, said similar steel plates form part of the great new Cunard,White Star liner Queen Alary. The latest warship to be salvaged is the 25,000-ton battleship Kcnig .filbert, which left Scapa for tho 250-milß journey to Rosyth on Wednesday, but has been held up by bad weather a'> Long Hope Bay. This great ship is being towed upside down by the most powerful tug in the world. It belongs to a JDutch company.
