SEAMAN TO BE DEPORTED [by telegraph—PllKSS association] WELLINGTON. Monday A seaman, Joseph Mahoney, aged 29, who was sentenced on May 2 to a month's gaol for assaulting an officer on his ship, the Golden Bear, while the officer was attempting to hold down a pedigree bull, was to-day charged before Mr. \V. F Stilwell, S.M., with unlawfully landing in New Zealand while a prohibited immigrant. He was ordered to bo deported. Mahoney will leave by the Golden Cloud to-morrow, and will bo kept in custody in tlu» meantime.
