OLD MAN'S DEATH THE CORONER'S VERDICT An inquest into the death of John William Becston, aged 69, who was knocked down by a motor-car at the intersection of Manukau and Great South Roads at about 8.50 on the night of February 23, was concluded vesterdav before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., coroner. Mr Bryce Hart appeared for the driver of the car, John Reginald Smith. Kvidence was given by an eyewitness, who described the accident and said he had been in the Supreme Court when Smith was convicted of negligent driving. A verdict of accidental death was returned

STRUCK BY CYCLIST FATE OF PEDKSTRIAN A verdict of accidental death was returned by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M.. coroner, at an inquest yesterday into tlie death of Robert Seaton Dickson, njred O-'i, maiiied, who was knocked down bv n cyclist on the Great North Road about 7.M0 p.m. on April 2.'i and who died in the Auckland Hospital on May 7. It was stated that death was due to cerebral contusions The coroner added that no blame was attachable to the cyclist, as it would be difficult to see deceased, who was wearing a dark suit.
