May 1 The attention of the Government has been drawn to the recent increase in .Tewiiih immigration to South Africa from Germany. Under the Immigration Act there is no restriction on the entry of German-born subjects into the Union, so long as they have the necessary capital and educational qualifications; but the Government reserves the right to regulate the flow if there is a tendency to overcrowd certain occupations. It is doubtful if the Government will take steps to amend the existing legislation. Another aspect of the German question was recently revealed iri the House of Assembly, when tho Minister of Justice said his attention had been drawn to an organisation established for the purpose of boycotting places of business ofFering German goods for sale. The Government, he said, viewed the movement with grave disapproval, and was pioing into the whole question with a view to ascertaining what effective , steps could be taken to counteract it. j
