ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND
After spending some diiys in th« Taupo district, the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, and. Viscountess Galway arrived in Auckland by the lim« ited express yesterday mooing, accom* panied by Major A. F. Purvis, military secretary, and Mrs. Purviii- Their E* 4 cellcneies were met at the railway sta» tion by the Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, and the town clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham, and welcomed to ths city. Cap* tain A. G. W. Heber-Percy and Sir Standish o'Grady Roche, aides-de-camp# arrived the previous evening. The commander of the French wsrsloop Savorgnan de Brazza, Commsndef L. Robert, paid a formal visit to Gov* ernment House yesterday morning, return call being made by Major Pur" s * The length cf Their Excellencies' stay in Auckland is indefinite, but it will probably be a few weeks.
