DUKE OF GLOUCESTER
MILITARY MANOEUVRES PART TAKEN IN MOCK BATTLE (Received May 28, G. 5 p.m.) LONDON. May 27 The Duke of Gloucester and a party of officers, all in mufti, took part in manoeuvres which lasted all day, and in a mock battle in.the Merionethshire Mountains, Wales. The Duke, who was without a hat and wearing plus fours, ate a luncheon of sandwiches and quenched his thirst from a mountain stream.
The party enjoyed one brief spell in the strenuous day when they listened to a broadcast of the Derby on a portable radio set.
