FIGURES <FOR THE YEAR
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE There are over 8000 more peoplo ifl Wellington than in Auckland who hare wireless receiving licences, according to returns up to April 30 issued by th# Post and Telegraph Office. A total of 65,501 licences has been issued to djte in Wellington as opposed to 56,898 in Auckland, the total for New Zealand being 180,546, an increase of 37,079 over last year's total. -- -a Licences issued in Otago number 24,664 and those in Canterbury 33,483. Dealers' licences to the number of 808 and amateur experimental numbering. 788, together with special licences swell the grand total to 182,523, a consider" able increase over last year's "figures, 145,231.
