ASSOCIATION GAME
REPRESENTATIVE MATCH AUCKLAND TO MEET NAVY FAST PLAY ANTICIPATED Brilliant Soccer should be witnessed at Blaiidford Park to-morrow, when Auckland will meet the Navy in the first representative match of the season. The Auckland-Navy games always prove outstanding attractions and, judging by the calibre of the present teams, to-morrow's match will provide fast and spectacular football. With every prospect of line weather, the teams should be able to adopt open and scientific methods. The Navy will be fielding a powerful eleven, the side being powerful both on defence and attack. The Navy players favour the long-passing, open type of game so popular with the spectators, and these methods, as past experience has shown, prove as effective as they are attractive. The Navy possesses an agile and efficient goalkeeper in Furnhill, while the strength of the defence will probably be in the halves, which will be directed by Sliirras, a hrst-class defender and a brilliant, constructive player. The star players in the forward line are Elwell, Leonard and Haines. A large amount of interest will centre in the display of the Auckland team in view of the English trophy and Australian games yet to be decided. All experimental team has been chosen for to-morrow's match, the majority ol the players being young and promising exponents with little representative experience. However, it. is anticipated that the side will mould into a strong combination. . = „„, As an added attraction, teams lepiescntin" the Navy and the French war sloop Savorgnan do Bru«a will take par ill a curtain-raiser match at Blaiidford lark.
