REQUEST FOR NEW BRIDGE

The Opotiki Borough Council has decided to make application for a bridge across the Otara River^, giving accefss to the sandhills and beach, at a cost of £3500.
Mr. T. G. Johnson moved that the rate be 6d in the pound, and this was seconded by Mr. Short. An amendment moved by Mr. Shalfoon that the rate be s id was seconded by Mr. E. Webb, but was lost, and the motion was carried.
