BELGIAN ELECTION
STATE OF PARTIES SOCIALISTS DOMINANT BRUSSELS. May 25 As the result of the general election the Socialists, with 70 seats, form the largest party in the Chamber of Representatives. The Catholics have 63 scats, a loss of 16, the Liberals 23, the Rexists 21, the Flemish Nationalists 16, a gain of eight, and the Communists nine, a gain of six. The I?exists, whoso leader is a free lance, M. Dcgrelle, nicknamed the " Peacock," demand a clean-up pf national politics. Although denounced as Fascists, they do not possess a militant organisation. M. Hymans, a former Liberal Prime Minister, was defeated in Brussels. It is expected that the historic Burgomaster Max will sacrifice his seat and resign in his favour.
