CARS IN COLLISION
BOMBAY DEVIATION ONE VEHICLE OVER BANK Narrow escapes from serious injury were experienced by the occupants of two motor-cars involved in a collision on the Bombay Deviation, near St. Stephen's College, last night. One vehicle, a light car driven by an elderly woman, was travelling in the direction of Auckland, and the other car, a heavy sedan model, was proceeding in the opposite direction,. the vehicles meeting with a terrific impact.
The smaller car was 6wung completely round, and turned over on to its side, extensive damage being caused to the bodywork. The larger vehicle, with a front wheel torn off, continued along the road for about a chain before it plunged over a bank into a creek several feet below. The front of the car was badly damaged, but the driver, a young man, and another man sitting in the front seat, escaped with slight shock. The driver of the smaller car, who is a resident of Hillsborough, and a passenger suffered from bruises.
