LOSS TO MAORI RACE
DEATH AT CAMBRIDGE [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday Tho death occurrod on Saturday at her residence in Stafford Street, Cambridge, of Mrs. Karika, one of the most high-born members of the Maori race. Mrs. Karika, whoso ancestral name was l'arepumai te Whotuiti, was born about 86 years ago. and for many years she had been a resident of Cambridge, much respected by Maori and European alike, Maoris from far and near will assemble next week at Tauwhare, where a larce tangi will be held.
