Mrs. A. W. Averill left Auckland by the Monterey on Friday to visit Australia.
Miss M. Dickson, formerly of Kinross, Grafton Road, is at present staying at Remuera.
At the Central Hotel are Mrs. D. Bell, Mrs. W. T. C. Miller (Thames), Mrs. J. Boyes (Hamilton).
Mrs. A. I. Johns, Bassett Road, Remuera, will leave by the Wanganella on Friday to visit Australia.
Mrs. C. R. Birchall, of Stanley Point, has returned from a holiday spent at Otorohanga and Morrinsville.
At Hotel Cargen are Mrs. F. Alison (Waiheke), Mrs. T. R. Bloomfield (Waiuku), Mrs. Gumbleton (Tauranga).
Mrs. Cuthbert. Mitford has returned to Auckland from Paihia, where she attended the Mitford-Allen wedding.
Mrs. Maughan Barnett, Mac Murray Road, Remuera, who is visiting Rotorua, will return to Auckland to-morrow.
Miss E. A. Chaplin, 8.A., has been reappointed by the Governor-General to the Canterbury University College Council for a further period of threo years.

Mrs. Lan Duncan, of Hobson Street, Wellington, left by the Monowai on Friday for Sydney, en route to England. She will be met in Sydney by her daughter, Miss Agnes Duncan, who will accompany her to England.
A dance was held recently in the Henderson Town Hall supper room in aid of kindergarten funds. Novelty dances were won by Mrs. Strong and Mr. S. Ozich, Mr. and Mrs. Smton, Miss Laurie and Mrs. Bayers. Competition winners were Mrs. Hart and Mr. D. Donuan.
An enjoyable programme of entertainment was presented at a meeting of St. Phillips' Guild, St. Heliers, lasb week. Contributing items were: —INlrs. Elmbranch, Miss Gladys Flinders, ]\lrs. A. Turner and Yvonne Carter. Competitions were won by Mrs. A. Brookfield and Mrs. A. Smith.
At a meeting of the Onohunga branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, a report of the recent convention was forwarded by Mrs. Mountjov and read by Mrs. Stacey. A vote of sympathy with Mrs. Mountjov in her recent bereavement was passed. Plans for future work were discussed.
A reunion of the Thames Girls' Club was held last week. Items were given as follows:—Hineroa Stewart, Mrs. Frazer, Mrs. Shaw, Alwyth Dunn, songs; Lorna Skinner, cornet solos; Mr. Foreshore, humour. Competitions were won by Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Davison, Madame Dunn, Messrs. Smith, Frazer and Mclntyre, Miss Smith, Miss Lorna Skinner and Master Thorburn. Madame Dunn was the accompanist.
