WIRE ROPE PURCHASES
Sir, —The following is an extract from ;t letter I have from a friend at Home, who is managing director of an important firm of English wire rope manufacturers: —" Your public officials in New Zealand should realise that tin' reason Germany is offering at lower prices is entirely due to heavy subsidising of German exports by the German Government in order to create foreign credits. At the present time J think New Zealand gets a higher price for butter than it would if we allowed Danish imports to come into this country without any control. I"or the sake of a small percentage increase of price it would be better for the public officials' not to ventilate they are placing business with Germany instead of with English manufacturers. The saving in the first place is not worth while and in the long run there will he a heavy loss to New Zealand. I also would say that we all try hero to use your products. Reciprocity.
