Miss Marjorie Hawke was the guest of honour at a farewell bridge party recently, the hostesses beingMrs.C. A. L. Smith, Mrs. G. Maltby and Mrs. W. P. Baigent. The room was decorated with bowls of autumn foliage. Miss Hawke, who will leave shortly for Wanganui, was the recipient of a small gift and many good wishes. Other ladies present included Mrs. Hallidav, Mrs. H. Bradmore, Mrs. Vingoe, Mrs. E. Wilson, Mrs. G. F. Glacken, Mrs. C. Jordan, Mrs. H. P. Bryan, Mrs. MacDougall, Mrs. W. Anderson, Mrs. Cramer Roberts, Mrs. E. Carr. Mrs. E. Bartlett, Mrs. C. Lowe, Mrs. T. H. Hall, Mrs. Bruce Beale, Mrs. A. Bell, Mrs. F. W. Meikle, Mrs. T. Connor and Mrs. McKerrow. Mrs. Cuthbert Adams was hostess at a farewell afternoon, the guest of honour being Mrs. Jefferson, who will leave for Wanganui. Mrs. Adams received her guests wearing. a frock of scarlet and white figured crepe suede. Other ladies ? resent were Mrs. A. Skinner. Mrs. W. )avis. Munro, of Mount Eden, is spending a few days at Mount Maunganui. Mrs. Bayliss, of Devonport Road, has left on an extended visit to Auckland. Mrs. M. Breignan, of Gisborne, who has been spending a three weeks' holiday in Tauranga, has returned home. Mrs. Harding, of Fras#r Street, has returned from a fortnight's holiday in Rotorua. Miss B. Dive and Miss Eileen Dive, of Eltham. are visitors to Tauranga. Mrs. M. P. Munro, of Cameron Road, has returned from a holiday visit to Rotorua. The Misses Olive and Dorothy Armitagc have returned from an holiday visit to Australia. Mrs. Rcid, of New Plymouth, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. A. Broward, has returned home.

Mrs. C. M. Henning has returned from a holidav visit to the South Tsland.
