GIRL GUIDE FUNCTION
BRIDGE EVENING HELD To raise funds for the Brett Home, Tnkapuna, a successful bridge evening, organised by the members of the Ist Devonport and North Shore Girl Guide committees, was held in the Parish Hall, Devonport, last night. Nineteen tables were engaged in contract and auction bridge and mah jongg. The president of the North Shore guide committee, Mrs. W. C. Beaumont, introduced the Mayoress, Mrs. H. F. W. Meikle, who welcomed the players. Members of the Devonport Boy Seout committee assisted with the supper arrangements. The combined committees comprised:—Mrs. F. Sullivan (president of Ist Devonport committee), Mrs. C. Rankin, Mrs. J. W. Aughton, Mrs. It. Godley, Mrs. G. H. Robins. Mrs. B. L. Martin, Mrs. J. R. Spicer, Mrs. J. N. Wnddell, Mrs. C. J. Blake. Mrs. E. Mullan, Mrs. W. Waters, Mrs. J. W. Murfitt.
